Today has been a busy day for the puppies. PawsCamo boy and Larry met their new families. THey are going to wonderful homes. I enjoy meeting the kids and families that the puppies will be living with. The next few weeks will be busy and rewarding all at the same time.
THe puppies are now six weeks old. THey got their first puppy shots yesterday and were wormed a second time this week. Everybody did great with their shots!! The puppies are almost completely weened from Nella, she checks on them, but dosen't let them nurse very often. They spend a lot of time out in the puppy yard playing with their toys and they love sleeping in the sun. The eat twice a day and their little teeth are comming in. All seem to have very calm personalities. I wasn't able to get outdoor shots today due to the weather. Below is a picture of Guiness, all the puppies but one will have shag coats from what I am seeing. The puppies will be able to go home Memorial day weekend. Time is flying by,,,,,they grow so fast!!!

The puppies turn five weeks old today. They have been spending a lot of time outside playing. We had a beautiful sunny day today. After getting their pictures taken they got to play outside in the puppy yard for several hours, they even napped in the sun. This litter seems to have shag coats to flat coats for sure. If you look on the past puppies page you will see a headshot of a dog that looks white. She has a shag coat and that is what I think these puppies will look like. The flat coated boys will look very retriever like. The puppies are eating dry food and comming a long just great.
The puppies turn four weeks May 1st. THey discovered they can bark this week and they are so funny! When you approach the puppy box they come running and wagging tails ....when you reach in a few of them bark....trying to be watch dogs....tails still wagging!! They have had several outdoor adventures, although the weather has not been very nice this week. Check out their new photos on the available puppies page. I introduced them to solid hard puppy food today and they loved it!! A few tend to swim in the water bowl, but they will get the hang of things quickly over the next several days!!
The puppies will be three weeks tomorrow! They will get their first worming. They spent some time out on the grass in the sun today. All the dogs took part in the puppy outing. Nella is very laid back and has no problem with the entire family checks out the puppies. Next weekend the puppies will be moved to the bigger puppy box. We use cedar shavings and the have sleeping quarters and the potty area. They really begin walking and socializing this week. Happy Easter Everyone!!

I just finished taking the first pictures of Nella's Litter. All are strong and healthy and doing wonderful. Nella is a great mom and is now getting comfortable leaving them for a few minutes at a time. We expect to see eyes open over the next few days and watch as the wave in their coats develope!
