About Me
My name is Penny and I live in rural northern Indiana with my husband and children. Over the adult years of my life I have worked as a floral designer and spent 5 years as a vet assistant. Most recently I began a dog grooming business. I started showing dogs 25 years ago and have loved several different breeds. We have always had a Golden Retriever for a family pet. Then a few years back, I met my first Doodle at the animal clinic. I fell in love with the breed! Yankee is our first Doodle and the foundation dog for Yankeeland Goldendoodles. He is a big ball of fur and fun. We hope to produce some wonderful Doodles with this wonderful dog. Yankee is groomed on a regular basis. Unless your Doodle has a wavy shag coat, grooming must be done on a regular basis. We live on three acres with an underground fence so the dogs get lots of exercise and play time. Yankee was very easy to housebreak. I am a firm believer in crating at night and when I am not at home. Crating can help a lot with house breaking and builds security and consistency with your dog. I also take my dogs to dog classes for Good Citizen Training. It has been invaluable for my dogs to have this type of training. I have eight kids coming and going in a very busy home, so the dogs need to display good manners!
Here is our current family photo. This is my husband and I with our four youngest children. We have eight kids all together and are enjoying life now as grandparents as well!
